Making a Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
We accept most major credit and debit cards. Payment by Paypal to email@example.com is also acceptable. Payment can also be made by a cheque made payable to ‘Templeton Tools & Machinery Ltd’. Cheques must clear the bank before goods can be dispatched. UK electronic bank transfers are acceptable. There may be a small charge to cover any bank charge on non-UK transfers.
We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Major back-ordered items are not charged until point of dispatch unless by agreement or request. You may send your credit card information by phone, fax, post or via our secure website checkout.
The web-site will generate an automatic confirmation of your order. This is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable. The order may be cancelled at this point without penalty.
Shipping And Handling
Because of the wide variety of products, we are unable to define carriage charges in advance. We will e-mail you the total invoice value, including carriage, when the items are packed and an accurate carriage charge can be applied. We have provided sample charges in the 'Shipping Charges' page. If you require a carriage cost estimate prior to placing your order, please contact us and we will provide details. The final cost is calculated when the goods are packed, so that we can charge an accurate amount. Charges are based on the actual weight, size of the shipment and delivery postcode. All prices quoted are 'economy'. Any extras/surcharges imposed by the carrier due to change of delivery address, upgrade in service, carrier's inability to contact, inaccessibility for delivery, or errors given in delivery address may be passed on to customer. Your order may be cancelled at any time prior to dispatch, without penalty, should the delivery charge be unacceptable.
Availability of goods are generally shown on our website. Unless items are noted as being out of stock, they are generally available although this cannot always be guaranteed. We shall endeavour to despatch all orders as soon as possible, usually within 3 working days of the consumer’s acceptance of quoted delivery charges. All orders are manually processed, and if any items are out of stock - we do inform the consumer before the order is processed. The order may be cancelled at this point without penalty.
If a specific delivery date is required, it is advisable that the consumer should telephone or email prior to ordering to make sure delivery on a specific date is possible. Next working day deliveries are available at a premium depending on the time of day order is received. It is preferable that orders requiring next working day delivery service are placed by phone as our standard despatch method is 2 > 3 working days by carrier for most of mainland UK, 5 – 7 working day delivery for some parts of Scotland.
While we try to deliver all goods ordered in accordance with our pledge, we take no responsibility for any consequence of late delivery however caused.
All our consignments are insured for damage in transit. Proof of damage in transit is required by the insurers. You are legally entitled to time to check for damage at the time of receipt, so the carrier must give you time to do this. In the event of consignment damage, the carrier's delivery line MUST be signed as 'DAMAGED', and Goods signed for as 'DAMAGED' will be replaced by us. Damage cannot be claimed if signed as being received as in good condition. If circumstances are such that you are unable to check on receipt, it is recommended to sign 'NOT CHECKED'. 'Not checked' is not proof of transit damage nor a guarantee of replacement of a damaged item, but will be replaced at our or our carrier's insurer's discretion if reported to us as soon as reasonably possible.
Fitting of Stoves and Flue Systems
Templeton Tools and Machinery Ltd cannot be held responsible in any way for any goods incorrectly or illegally fitted. The company has no control over how the consumer chooses to fit or use such items. Templeton Tools and Machinery Ltd do offer a quotation service for budgeting purposes only. It is the responsibility of the consumer if using this service to check with their registered HETAS installer or building control officer, as to the suitability and use of the goods required for their own specific installation and local regulations, as we do not carry out site visits or inspect properties or customers own installations. Additional stove and safety manuals are available from us free of charge upon request. Guides, flue catalogues and a link to building control regulations are available to view or download under 'MANUALS' on our web-site.
If an item you order is not in stock, we will e-mail or phone you to let you know. In most cases, the order will be sent when all the items are available. However, in some cases we reserve the right to cancel the out of stock item. This may apply if we know the missing item becomes unavailable or is not due in for some time. You will be kept informed and may cancel the back order without penalty if delivery becomes unacceptable to you.
Quotations can be given only as guidance for budgeting and technical installation of flues. Prices for stoves and flues will be deemed as agreed at the prices as published at the time of the order.
Warranty covers manufacturing faults only and cannot exceed the price of the item purchased. The customer is requested to examine the goods as soon as reasonably possible, and should fault in the product be found we should be advised of such fault as soon as reasonably possible. Should a manufacturing fault/defect become apparent, we will repair, replace or refund as appropriate. Warranty does not cover miss-use of product, e.g. over-burning of stoves through miss-use or ignorance of correct use. Additional copies of manuals containing use of product, choice and use of fuels are available by email by return. Please send a LARGE STAMPED ADDRESSED ENVELOPE with request for printout manual.
