The Acorn Stove model has been one of our most popular stoves since around 2003. However, it has been off sale for a couple of years since the new BS and CE testing requirements came in whilst we worked through putting all the models through the new certification requirements.
We are now very glad to see it return. Like our other models, it is now BS and CE certified. It's a nice little budget stove suitable for all general users. The finish isn't quite so high nor is it as heavy duty as our Premier range - but it's super super value for the money.
We've had to wait a crazy amount of time since both our purchase and manufacture on the certification coming through which delayed the shipping of the stoves for several months. As a result, exchange rates have risen by about 30% - so we can currently offer significant savings on the newly arrived stoves whilst we have this batch in stock.
We've got the BS and CE testing certificates and the details are all on the manuals - but we are still awaiting arrival of plates. We will be able to forward the plates on by post shortly by anyone purchasing that wants to fit their stove now and requires these (properties build after 2002) in the next 2 or 3 weeks.
This stove is only currently available with chrome fittings. It now also comes with a sheet steel plate for woodburning. Coal should be burned on the coal grate (as it burns from the bottom up) - but wood is best burned on top of the metal plate placed on top of the grate. This makes the wood only burn from the top down and thus lowers fuel consumption and lengthens burn time of wood. Ash pan is not used when wood burning.
Normal curing proceedures should be followed as per the manual.
