hi, Mr McClumpha again, I took your advice and took the baffle out, Arte fogo premier. Within minutes the water was boiling, picked up a steam leak on joint at back which didnt happen on slower heat up.no leak just steam for a few seconds. The hot water was boiling in an hour or so, but due to fact its all gravity fed and we may have fire on longer in winter, do not want heat to find its way up into expansion tank if hot water tank gets too hot. gravity flow is brilliant, I put pipes slightly up hill (just touching edge of bubble spirit level) to allow natural flow, So I put it baffle back in hoping that will reduce the long term risk of above. No wonder that bloke ran his bungalow off this little tank its brilliant, much more efficient , in fact unbelievably more efficient,than I thought. Thanks will do photo and send to you when Ive finished the platering and done finishing touches. Thanks once again for all the advice.and help. Ian

I have recently got a load of oak from a farmer friend here in France. I bought a Lambeth stove from you earlier this year and it is brilliant. Before I got the oak I was burning what was in the wood store outside, small lengths collected by the previous owner, maybe three inch diameter, they did not last very long, around an hour etc, but I did learn how to control the burning and successfully kept the fire going through the night. There is loads of oak down here in the Dordogne and the cost is very reasonable, it cost me 150 euros for what you see in the pictures. I cut each length into 3 pieces and that will last all day. Have fired up the stove (Arte Fogo Deluxe) quite a few times now (yes, I know it is summer, but I have a lot of scrap wood to shift). I have bed it in gently and finally got it going to a full roar. Its fantastic. Really really pleased. With the damper at the back, and vent at the front open, boy does it roar. The vitreous enamel stove pipe started to get orange at the back, so I slowed it down. We are really pleased with the Elite. It really does chuck out a lot of heat. We always have to open a window or door to cool the room down a bit when it's been on for a while. Great to just sit and watch....better than the telly most nights. We certainly made the right choice and it looks great and was worth all the work involved to get it installed. We have already had a couple of power cuts since I finished the installation so it was really useful for them especially with the kettle which sits on top most of the time.
