Print Description

A little treasure of a new small stove model launched winter 2005 season. With this stove, functionality is the key ! Very shallow, but with a good sized glass fronted door and double hot plates.  One of the slimest stoves we do.

The Ladybird is a pretty little stove and ideal for smaller rooms, especially those who require plenty of cooking facilities. Ideal for little workshops, tackrooms, hunting lodges. Don't buy this without buying a cast iron stove kettle - you will want water for the tea constantly on the boil !

This is a lighter weight stove and although very capable, is not geared towards heavy use and 24 hour burning. If you want a stove capable of burning for extended periods of time - we'd suggest you look at a heavier duty models such as Buckingham, Coachman, Elite ranges
Height : 490mm, Width 590mm, Depth: 310mm deep.

5" PIPE RECOMMENDED

MINIMUM FIREPLACE OPENING WIDTH 840mm/ 33'' REQUIRED FOR BUILDING CONTROL/ HETAS REQUIREMENTS

burner fitted and well tried,  15 May 2011

I really like this burner I have seasoned it now and had good fires also cooked many casseroles on it we have a small room and it heats it well it is small and the grate is high so big logs wont fit I don't mind as I just put the axe throgh the bigger logs a lot of mine are seasoned branches anyway I would recommend this burner as it looks good has the removable rings on top that are useful for frying or other types of cooking that need intense heat I cooked a prawn curry on the top without removing the rings in 20 mins warms beans in 10 mins used a cast iron casserole dish and cast iron skillet also used my bog standard pans and they work well too the grate can be removed for more log space inside the burner but it needs a bit of help with draw then i have the door ajar a fraction to get the flames going when I don't have the grate in and once its well lit it runs well with the grate on the floor of the burner.

    5 Years ..........Maybe More?,  21 Jan 2012

We received our little Ladybird in 2007. We ran the little stove flat out over the next 5 years for 8 out of 12 months and approximately 5 hours per day. Burning chip board, logs, MDF, Oak, ply, anything we could get our hands on. The baffle plate crumbled after 2 years and the grate a year later. I fabricated and fitted a new baffle plate and grate made from 10mm mild steel and to date both have stayed the course. The following year the fire rope had to be renewed around the glass along with the corroded fixings. Last September we noticed a small strip had broken off the exterior at the rear. The hole is now patched up with fire cement, but the other side looks about to do the same. So are we disappointed? Certainly not. It has served us well, and to be honest we have pushed it consistently beyond it's capability. The stove was cheap, designed only for light occasional duty; we have used it as our sole source of heating for 5 years. We will be sad to replace her this year!
