This item is an original Hunter Stoves flue damper - which may be fitted into the stove collar of Hunter Herald stoves for extra control of the burn rate by adjusting the draw.

A butterfly damper works much like the accelerator pedal in your car, by giving greater control of flue gasses and therefore reducing / increasing burn rate and heat output of your stove.
